Pack 17 is powered by parent volunteers.
Our volunteer leaders work together to create a fun, safe and well-organized Scouting program for our Scouts and families. Some roles are highly visible and others happen behind the scenes, but all of them help make the Pack go.
Training Opportunities
BALOO - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation
Cub Scout overnight events require at least one BALOO-trained adult. Find an upcoming session.
Wood Badge -
Scouting’s premier leadership training, designed to help leaders build stronger teams and deliver a better Scouting program. Find a session that works with your schedule.
Cubmaster — Fielding Link
Leads the Pack program and works with our Den Leaders to deliver a great Scouting experience for every Scout.
Assistant Cubmaster — Griffin LaPlante
Supports the Cubmaster and helps coordinate Pack programs, activities and events.
We could always use more help! If you're interested in becoming an Assistant Cubmaster or helping with the Pack program, we'd love to talk with you. Send an email to cubmaster@pack17scouting.org.
The Pack Committee handles much of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps Pack 17 running and supports our Cubmaster and Den Leaders.
Chartered Organization Representative (COR) — David Moore
Represents our chartered organization, Haygood United Methodist Church, and serves as an important link between the church, Pack leadership and the Scouting program.

Committee Member at Large — Ken Williams
Supports Pack activities and committee projects wherever an extra hand is needed.
You don't need years of Scouting experience to help Pack 17. Most of our volunteers started simply because they saw something they could help with.
Communications & Records Coordinator — OPEN
We're looking for someone to help keep the Pack organized and parents informed. This role would take brief notes at our monthly committee meetings, help keep the Pack website current and assist with occasional Pack communications.
Advancement Chair — VOLUNTEER NEEDED
We’re looking for someone to take over this important behind-the-scenes role. It’s a great way to get involved with the Pack and help celebrate our Scouts’ achievements.
Additional Committee Members — Always Welcome
Have a skill, interest or idea that could help the Pack? We'd love to have you. There are plenty of ways to contribute without taking on a major leadership role.
Interested in helping? Talk with any of the leaders above or join us at a Pack Committee meeting or email committee@pack17scouting.org. All Pack 17 parents are welcome.
